About ISO42k
Making AI management standards accessible
ISO42k = ISO 42001
ISO42k is shorthand for ISO/IEC 42001:2023 — the world's first certifiable standard for AI Management Systems. We use this nickname to make the standard more approachable. Same standard, easier to remember.
As AI becomes embedded in every product and service, organizations need clear guidance on how to govern these systems responsibly. ISO 42001 provides the framework, but the standard itself can be dense and difficult to navigate. That's where ISO42k comes in.
Our mission
We believe that responsible AI governance shouldn't require a consulting engagement to understand. Our goal is to be the clearest, most practical resource for organizations exploring ISO 42001 — whether you're a startup founder trying to understand what this standard means for your product, or a compliance leader evaluating certification.
What we cover
What we are (and aren't)
We are

- ✓ Independent and unbiased
We are not

Our approach
Every piece of content on ISO42k is researched from authoritative sources — including the official ISO standard, major consulting firms (EY, McKinsey), certification bodies, and industry publications. We cite our sources on every page so you can verify and dig deeper.
We aim to be modern, accessible, and practical. No jargon walls, no gated content, no sales pitch. Just clear information about a standard that's becoming increasingly important for any organization using AI.
